Kikuletwa Hot Springs, Also referred to as Maji Moto in Swahili and Chemka Hot Springs, this natural geothermal oasis is situated in the Masama Rundugai ward of Hai District within the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. The term 'Chemka' translates to 'boiling' in Swahili, which aptly describes the way the water rises from the earth. Located approximately 40 kilometers from Moshi, the town that serves as a gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro, the hot springs are found in a village named Chemka. This serene oasis is enveloped by lush palm trees and tropical flora, with crystal-clear water maintained at a temperature of around 27°C (81°F), making it perfect for swimming and relaxation. The springs can reach depths of 6 to 10 meters. Additionally, the area is renowned for birdwatching, hosting a variety of bird species that thrive in the adjacent forests and wetlands.
