This journey is perfectly suited for travelers with limited time who wish to explore the premier parks of Northern Tanzania. The elephant safari itinerary includes visits to the elephants in Tarangire National Park, the pink flamingos at Lake Manyara, and a drive into the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. Participants can expect to encounter the Big Five of Africa (Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhino, and Lion), along with a variety of other wildlife throughout the tour. We will collect you from your lodging in Moshi or Arusha and transport you to Tarangire National Park. This park, one of the largest in Tanzania situated in the Manyara region, is particularly renowned for the Tarangire River, which flows continuously throughout the year and serves as the sole water source for wildlife during the dry season. Overnight at Burunge, Maramboi Tented Lodge Ngorongoro Farmhouse, or Bougainvillea. FB (or as per the agreed accommodation)
Following breakfast, you will embark on an early morning journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a wildlife safari. This site is yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site situated to the west of Arusha in the crater highlands of Tanzania. It derives its name from the Ngorongoro Crater, recognized as the largest caldera in the world. The breathtaking scenery of Ngorongoro, characterized by its extensive highland plains and a rich concentration of animals, renders this location one of the most extraordinary natural marvels on the planet. Overnight at Tloma, Ngorongoro Farmhouse, or Bougainvillea. FB
After breakfast, you will proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, where at certain times, hundreds of thousands of flamingos can be seen along the shores, giving the lake a pink hue from afar. The flamingos are present in Lake Manyara from April to November. In addition to the pink flamingos, the park is home to over 400 bird species. You will also encounter giraffes, elephants, warthogs, zebras, and various other wildlife. Notably, Lake Manyara is famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, so you may need to look up into the branches to spot them. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha/Moshi which marks the end of your safari.
